US wants to help Angola in terrorist financing investigation

The ambassador of the United States of America, Nina Maria Fite, expressed yesterday her country’s interest in supporting Angola in the training of staff in the investigation of crimes using information technology (cyber crimes), money laundering and terrorist financing. and trafficking in human beings. The diplomat, who was speaking in the margins of the audience with Interior Minister Eugénio Laborinho, also said that it is in the United States interest to strengthen mechanisms that could make the exchange of migratory data with Angola more effective.

For his part, Interior Minister Eugénio Laborinho reiterated the willingness of his ministerial body to continue working with the United States Embassy to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the field of security and public order.

Eugénio Laborinho praised the excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, expressing Angola’s satisfaction at the fact that they signed the memorandum of understanding between the two governments, initialed in Luanda, in July this year.

It should be noted that over the past few years, the parties have been developing, on a timely basis, some cooperation actions, notably as regards staff training, the exchange of investigative information, and some official visits by US entities. to Angola.
