The Angolan and Portuguese authorities are working to find creative ways to improve the process of granting visas to citizens of both countries, without major bureaucracy.

According to the Foreign Minister, Manuel Augusto, who spoke on Monday, in a collective interview about the visit of the President of Portugal to Angola, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, very soon we can have solutions, concerning the visas granting regime between the two countries.

This, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, although Portugal is conditioned by the limitations of the Schengen area. The two countries already have visa-free agreements on diplomatic and service passports.

On the other hand, he added that the visit of the Portuguese President will allow the signing of legal instruments that will further contribute to the enhancement of relations between the two countries, especially in sectors such as fisheries, transport, internal administration and security, as well as finance.

Regarding debt certification, Manuel Augusto said that the process is being handled normally by the technical teams of the two countries, but that it does not refer only to Angola to Portugal, but there is also Portuguese companies’ fiscal debt to the Angolan State.
